31 October, 2010 - Halloween

To be honest, I'm looking forward to the end of Halloween. No more costumes. No more scary or gruesome decorations. No more being asked what I'm going to dress up as (I stopped trick-or-treating at the age of twelve). Instead, we can look forward to Thanksgiving! I love that holiday.

Anyhow, my mom likes to take pictures of us on Halloween. Since she got us the gangster hats this year, we wore those for the pictures. Before we set off on that adventure, though, I nabbed CoolBreeze and took a shot of her and her faithful sidekick, Jared.


And because I was plum exhausted after the photo shoot, I took a nap right on the deck.

Okay, not really. However, my dog wouldn't cooperate for normal photos and decided to lay down on the deck. So I joined her in being lazy.


(P.S. We only have two more months of 2010 left! I don't know for sure that I'll continue with Project 365 next year. What do you all think?)

My sisters got some fancy masks when we went candy shopping this week. They decided they wanted to have their photos taken in the masks. This is one of my favorites of over two hundred photos.

A very typical day. As the sun neared the end of its downward trek, my dog and I went outside and enjoyed the pleasant fall day. That time of day tends to be very soothing, I find.

We went on another outing on Thursday (Hooray!). This time, we sought to get some candy for Halloween since our self control is lacking. (Yes, we'd eaten just about everything that we had previously purchased... This is why you should purchase candy you don't like.)

More birds on the electrical and phone lines... It's one of those things that occurs in everyday life, so I constantly have the opportunity to get photos of it.

Shortly after noon, my grandfather called and requested that myself or one of my sisters spend a few hours at their house this evening. After being cooped up in our house for ten straight days, I was thrilled at the prospect of being somewhere else. So here I've been for the past hour and a half and here I shall stay until they return from their event.

My responsibility is simple - make sure the dog gets bathroom breaks. Since that's only needed every two hours or so, there's not much to this job. So I'm sitting here, enjoying my music and chilling. I haven't had a house to myself in ages, so--as something of a loner--this time is much appreciated.

Before the sun went down, I convinced Caprice and Watson to "cooperate" for a photo of the two of 'em. (I was holding a dog treat. Hence the funny expression on Caprice's face.)


Once Watson wandered off, I decided to snap a couple shots of Cappy. She's such a pretty little dog.

Pretty average day. The most notable thing I did today was practice my elbow stalls in the backyard.

Despite their occasional squabbles, our two "puppies" usually get along rather well. In fact, it's generally pretty obvious that they're sisters. For example, their two-headed dog impression:

Unfortunately, I had to replace my headphones today. My old ones were given to me by a friend last year, but they bit the dust a couple days ago. Because of the sentimental value, I'm somewhat sad to replace them, but don't see that I have a choice. This pair is the cheap kind, so I'm hoping to replace them with another pair like my old ones in the [hopefully] near future.

My biggest reason for insisting on a new pair of earbuds: Ryan Kelly, my favorite member of the band Celtic Thunder, released his first solo album on the eleventh. Alas, we just found out about and purchased the album from iTunes today. We're all quite thrilled to have it!

I woke up early this morning to the sound of a rainstorm beginning. As the morning progressed, the rain got heavier, the ground wetter and the skies darker. By ten o'clock, everything was thoroughly soaked. I escorted my dog into the backyard (she doesn't like rain) and took the opportunity to snap a couple photos. Naturally, just when the creative juices started to flow, the rain got drastically heavier. So, fearing for my camera, I sought cover in the house. About half an hour later, when the rain had settled, I went out for round two. This shot was a product of that particular venture.
