Make a photograph dominated by the color orange today.

Since the very beginning of my blog, I have never found myself rushing in the last hour of the day to get a photo. Never. I've been rather proud of my discipline--never missed a day, never had to rush a photo... Right up until yesterday, the twenty-ninth of March.
My sisters and I spent the majority of the evening watching the third season of Doctor Who together and, before I knew it, the night was over and I was changing into PJs. That's when it hit me--I hadn't taken a daily photo! Oh joy. So, in a flurry of motion, I grabbed my camera, glanced around the room for a picture, spotted one of my digital clocks, turned the light off and snapped several shots. As none of them were particularly impressive in the raw, I decided to put some time and effort into this photo by editing it. Hooray for not missing a day!

Make a black and white photograph and go monochrome today.
I can't deny it--when I saw this assignment, I momentarily felt bad for you all. After three days of black and white and sepia photographs, the assignment was to use black and white. Of course, that was quickly washed away by my delight at being given permission to use the setting again.
I actually have spent my day indoors, without many photography opportunities. However, when I stepped outside with my dog earlier, I decided to play with photographing the screws and worn paint on our deck. The paint itself is actually a deep red color, so I was interested to see how it turned out in black and white. Unfortunately, when loaded on the computer, the colors from this shot bleached a little bit (I really don't know why that happens, I just know it does) making it so that I had to touch this shot up with GIMP to make it worthwhile.

Sunday being the end of Spring Break and the day she had to move back into her dorm, LH decided to drive up to see my family and I before going back to school. She happened to have some really awesome lyrics written on her arm (and also happens to be really tolerant of crazy photographers like myself), so I decided to make her my photo of the day.

Today was an amazingly productive day... at least, in the way of graphics. I had a couple outstanding commissions that have been awaiting some free time to start and finish them. Almost as soon as I got up, I pulled good ole GIMP up and proceeded to pull some graphics together. I am currently putting the finishing touches on the final request, but have already received approval from the first "client", so I'm feeling satisfied.
And since most of the day was spent working on graphics, I didn't really have time to indulge my inner photographer. I did manage to remember to make it to my sisters' room to snap a few shots of their new dart board. Chances are pretty good that I'm going to have fun playing around with angles and this new subject.
(Interesting fact, due to the holographic quality of the darts' fletching, they always looked blurred in the photos. That is something I've not experienced with a stationary object until now, but it's good to know.)

As I sat waiting for the rest of my family to finish up their workouts, I chilled in one of the big ole comfy armchairs that the gym has in their main hallway and listened to some music. I caught a glimpse of my iPod looking rather photogenic, so I decided to snap a few shots.

We took a spontaneous trip to the park near our gym today. The wind drove us back to the car pretty fast, but all of us managed to get some photos before heading home.
Also, you have surely noticed my brand new blog skin. LH, being the awesome friend and sister that she is, was kind enough to put it together for me. My two previous themes were also her handiwork, but I think this one really takes the cake. Many thanks to her for my beautiful new background!
