An abundance of wind and rain has actually curled their leaves up (from the west to the east), so they are currently bending toward the road.
I took this shot from the far east side of our yard so that I could capture the back rows of the garden. It's kind of hard to tell, but this picture shows that our back sunflowers are much shorter than the front ones. The only possible reason for this is that the front flowers receive more water than the rest.
