12 September, 2010

Another one of those "When all else fails photograph your keys/watch/jewelry" moments. I had this necklace custom made at the Renaissance Festival in July at a coin press.

Last night, I accidentally flicked pineapple juice all over myself. And my computer. And my dog. Some of the juice landed on my necklace (which I wasn't aware of until this morning). If you look underneath the dog paw, at the very bottom of the necklace, you'll see a very bronze spot. The entire necklace looked like that before it developed patina (the greenish hue that you see on the necklace is caused by this). That bronze spot is thanks to the acid in the pineapple juice, which ate away at the patina over night. Yikes!
