4 September, 2010

The entire family rose at five yesterday morning and took off for the Colorado Balloon Classic's hot air balloon launch.

The area's geese took the first day of the Classic to start migrating south... They seemed a bit bewildered by the large quantity of balloons.

My favorite balloon, this year.

Yes, I did have to experiment with the black and white setting and balloons. This particular photo turned out best.

Pike's Peak and one of many of our bronc bustin' designs.

My second favorite balloon as it's being inflated. It's a fun process to watch.

We spent our afternoon relaxing (some napped) and then we picked up one of CoolBreeze's friends and went to the "Balloon Glo" (which is where they set the balloons up but don't launch, however, the fire looks splendid at night).

(By the way - nighttime photography is tough in every sense of the word. This is the first time I've tried it and it proved to be quite the challenge. A fun challenge, of course, but a challenge none the less.)
