9 June, 2011

So last year, I posted photos of our sunflowers on Monday. It so happens that we sowed our seeds on a Thursday this year, so that will be my day for sunflower updates.

Here we are, a week after getting the seeds in the ground and we already have an abundance of healthy looking sprouts! These particular seedlings are actually some of the Lemon Queens that we planted, rather than the Mammoths. In a few weeks, we'll thin the sunflowers out by removing some of the smaller, weaker seedlings to allow the healthier ones to grow. For now, they will be permitted to grow very near one another.
